Although the flexibility of the Agile software methodology may seem incompatible with the rigor required for the development of space hardware, ALTEN Technology has blended these two approaches with great success. In this paper, we describe how we combine the overall structure of traditional waterfall approaches with the daily and weekly execution of Agile methods to obtain the benefits of both, including faster development, higher-quality deliverables, and continuous risk reduction.
