The client sought a safety-critical system controller for electric starter generators (ESGs) used in commercial aircraft. The primary challenge was achieving FAA certification under DO-254 and DO-178C standards.

ALTEN deployed a skilled team for VHDL development, field-oriented control algorithm implementation, and rigorous verification testing. The controller communicated with external systems using ARINC and MIL-STD protocols.

Over 1,000 requirements were validated, and the final design was certified and deployed. The project showcased ALTEN’s expertise in FPGA development and regulatory compliance for flight-critical systems.
