Staff Thermal Controls Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of the software you develop through testing and validation, both on lab bench and in vehicle
• Lead development of controls model architecture and provide technical leadership in controls development to other team members
• Be responsible for the development, implementation, optimization, and testing of control algorithms to join the Thermal Controls team.
• Develop control systems as well as engage in calibration & testing of the systems. Use MATLAB/Simulink to design & develop control software.
• Implement, test, debug and calibrate thermal control algorithms, as well as collaborate with Controls Architect & Modeling engineers to devise accurate control strategies for thermal management of battery, fuel cell, powertrain, HVAC and brake resistors.
• Develop vehicle level test requirements for validating the vehicle thermal management system (thermal control system DVP, pass/fail requirements, and detailed test plans)

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge in MATLAB/Simulink 
• Strong background in Model Based System design in MATLAB/Simulink
• Direct experience in vehicle-level controls design for electric or hybrid vehicles. (i.e., thermal management, battery management, charging systems, torque control, vehicle dynamics, body controls) 
• Good understanding of system/component design/development processes 
• Familiar with git version control
