What You Will be Doing

  • Design and develop control software using MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure development needs are met.
  • Take full ownership of the software development process, including rigorous testing and validation, both in the lab and in the field.
  • Collaborate closely with embedded, integration, and cross-functional engineers to implement, test, debug, and calibrate control algorithms.
  • Offer dedicated support for troubleshooting any control system-related issues.
  • Craft validation test plans and execute lab experiments for propulsion components, evaluating their alignment with design requirements.
  • Formulate vehicle-level test requirements to validate the vehicle propulsion control system, encompassing the design verification process, pass/fail criteria, and detailed test plans.
  • Implement modeling best practices to expedite development and enhance model fidelity, focusing on runtime performance optimization, model verification, and validation.
  • Develop tools for data analysis and refine modeling capabilities.

 

Education/Experience

  • Master's or Ph.D. (preferred) degree in Computer Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in developing embedded control software.
  • Profound expertise in MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Proven track record in the development of control algorithms.
  • Direct experience in vehicle-level control design, with a focus on torque management, braking systems, or state management for electric or hybrid vehicles.
  • Solid foundation in Model-Based system design within the MATLAB/Simulink environment.
  • Knowledge of auto-code generation within the MATLAB/Simulink environment.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming.
  • A deep understanding of system/component design and development processes.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Vector CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape.
  • Strong command of CAN and LIN Communication Protocols.

 

Salary: 

  • $125,000 – 130,000 annually
  • The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
