Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assess supplier capability via site visits and process audits for compliance to regulations, agreements, standards, and documented processes. Collaboratively qualify processes and parts with suppliers, design engineers, Supplier Quality Team, and Incoming Inspection Team
  • Drive development and improvement by utilizing KPI with our suppliers ensuring all production quality data is tracked, reported on, and corrected as required
  • Actively participate in and lead new product development teams as it relates to supplier quality to support product and process design and development activities via leading the supplier risk management process
  • Actively lead product and process validation activities through PPAP to achieve expected levels of product quality within the assigned supply base, including First Article Inspection, Cpk analysis, Pareto, Statistical Process Control, and Process Capability Studies
  • Actively participate in supplier non-conformance reports (NCRs), Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs)
  • Review supplier parts and process change notifications (PCN’s) to determine whether re-qualification is required
  • Support the review/approve product and process change control documentation and specifications as it relates to assigned suppliers



  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline
  • 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience (industrial and/or automotive a plus)


The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

  • Ability to travel up to 40%
  • Experience and/or knowledge in one of these areas: ferrous metals machining, welding, electrical manufacturing services (automotive quality systems a plus)
  • Knowledge and experience with implementing Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process and other Quality tools such as Failure Modes Effect Analysis (FMEA), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Root Cause Analysis
  • High performer and self-starter with the ability to design and implement quality systems and best practices from scratch
  • Six Sigma, Lean, and ASQ Certification and trainings are preferred
