ALTEN Technology provided comprehensive engineering and design support for optimizing cockpit control panels in commercial aviation. This involved redesigning existing control panels based on feedback gathered from pilots and engineers on an initial production version. The project focused on optimizing various aspects, including the operator interface device selection and layout, light plate design, and the overall panel architecture. As a result, ALTEN Technology delivered complete cockpit control panel designs, encompassing mechanical CAD, cable assembly design and routing, light plate design, electrical schematics, circuit card design, and panel architecture. Additionally, validation and verification test plans were developed for new circuit cards in accordance with DO-160 requirements, covering rigorous environmental factors such such as temperature, vibration, voltage spikes, emission of RF energy, electrostatic discharge, operational shocks, and crash safety.
