Optimize factory flow today. Developed PPS capabilities, drove resolution of critical issues, and aligned KPIs for enhanced production quality standards.

In a recent engagement, ALTEN Technology delivered comprehensive TEST STATION DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT for an aerospace client, with a strong emphasis on refining their Quality Management System through Practical Problem Solving (PPS). The core of ALTEN Technology’s approach involved systematically streamlining the existing PPS backlog and elevating PPS maturity across both operational and quality functions. This was achieved by integrating PPS data into the client’s Skywise database, developing a dedicated tracker and pager system, and coordinating multi-functional team meetings to ensure successful implementation and closure of problem-solving initiatives. Furthermore, ALTEN Technology established robust performance monitoring through KPI management and regular reviews, while also creating essential local PPS training materials and identifying subject matter experts to foster adherence to processes. The project yielded significant results, including enhanced PPS capabilities within the client’s teams, leading to improved compliance with aerospace quality standards and bolstered confidence in their management system. A PPS master tracker was developed which effectively drove the closure of critical issues and substantially reduced the PPS backlog, ensuring that new problems were only opened after rigorous risk prioritization. This initiative also included the delivery of weekly PPS training, aligning quality standards with critical final assembly line targets for cost and lead-time.
