Specializing in advanced software engineering for satellite platforms, ALTEN Technology delivered a comprehensive suite of flight, test, and simulation software solutions. Over a four-year engagement, ALTEN Technology integrated its software resources directly into client project teams, applying its best practices while collaborating closely to define requirements and architecture, and leveraging the client’s existing development processes. Key outcomes included the creation of detailed software requirements and designs, implementation of flight software for a satellite platform (incorporating radiation mitigations) and its power management subsystem, development of a test software platform for automated flight software and hardware testing, and a simulator for the control and telemetry ground system. The project utilized a range of technologies including C++, C, Python, Vorago, Linux, and VxWorks.
