Providing engineering support for next-generation data collection hardware and software, this project by ALTEN Technology focused on advancing UAV approaches. The team adapted product development processes to align with the client’s existing infrastructure, meticulously collecting and decomposing technical and user requirements into detailed system and subsystem specifications. ALTEN Technology developed novel solutions, ensuring client buy-in through regular design and process reviews. As a result, Agile hardware and software development processes were successfully established. New data collection hardware, ruggedized for operation in inclement weather, was designed, integrated into production, and supported through field deployment. Furthermore, ALTEN Technology developed, tested, and supported the field deployment of a new user interface aimed at streamlining data collection setup and results ingress. This comprehensive effort leveraged key tools such as Confluence, Jira, Python, and CATIA, drawing upon diverse expertise in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Project Management, Quality Assurance, and Software Engineering.
