For an aerospace client, ALTEN Technology developed crucial manufacturing test equipment for a software-defined radio (SDR) system. This involved assisting with the design and testing of eight modular software-defined radio manufacturing test racks. Integrating closely with the client’s team, ALTEN Technology provided comprehensive support in task management, system definition, and the architecture, design, assembly, and testing phases. The project successfully yielded detailed design documentation, including interface control documents (ICDs), schematics, and harness drawings, along with the development of manufacturing test software that abstracted complex functionalities for ease of use. Additionally, ALTEN Technology completed the architecture and design of custom PCBAs for signal conditioning and distribution, providing on-site assistance for the build, testing, and final delivery. Key tools and technologies utilized included RapidHarness, Altium, Python, and Keysight, covering various signal types like RF, digital, and LVDS.
