A prominent business jet manufacturer in the commercial aviation sector sought to optimize its production and delivery schedules. To address this, ALTEN Technology provided comprehensive mechanical engineering and project management support, embedding a team of specialized contractors including lean engineers, production and scheduling engineers, CNC programmers, and operations and logistics managers. This strategic partnership focused on implementing lean process improvements across the manufacturing lifecycle. The successful engagement resulted in an improved aircraft delivery schedule, a workforce bolstered with waste-reduction engineering talent, and a notable decrease in production and operations costs. Furthermore, the collaboration optimized machine processing and consistency, enhanced overall manufacturing productivity and profitability, and significantly reduced rework hours and schedule impacts for parts destined for final assembly. Key technologies leveraged during the project included CATIA, ERP systems such as CAMPS Shop and TrackStar, Kaizen event software, SAP, and various computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) tools.
