ALTEN Technology played a pivotal role in a project focused on managing a fleet of autonomous vehicles. The team designed and supported the development of prototype transport simulation and reinforcement learning algorithms essential for this task. Their innovative approach led to significant performance improvements, including tuning and parallelizing algorithms, which resulted in a remarkable increase in simulation speed and a reduction in operational costs by over 25 times. A robust, high-performance simulation platform was established and maintained on Amazon AWS, leveraging services such as EC2, ECR, S3, EMR, and ParallelCluster. To further enhance efficiency, a dashboard was built to monitor and compare the results of various simulation runs. Key technologies utilized throughout the project included Java, Python, Tensorflow, Docker, Shell scripting, Eclipse IDE, and MPI.
