An aircraft manufacturer in commercial aviation partnered with ALTEN Technology to streamline the design review process for seat customization. The project focused on transitioning from a traditional document-based system to a more efficient Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach for cabin modules, ensuring improved traceability and change impact analysis. Utilizing key tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler and SysML, ALTEN Technology successfully created a model-based “frame specification” detailing client requirements and high-level functions. This initiative not only highlighted the benefits of MBSE within the industry but also demonstrated seamless collaboration with external suppliers on a shared model, ultimately identifying areas for enhancing the client’s existing MBSE framework.
